Ling Tree Dedication

On May 30, Mt. Pleasant Citizens' Climate Lobby joined the City of Mt. Pleasant Parks & Recreation to honor David Ling, long-term Isabella County Commissioner and community champion, with a tree dedication ceremony at Chipp-A-Waters Park.

Trees dedicated include red maple, blackgum, river birch, whitespire birch, eastern redbud, swamp white oak, sugar maple, and serviceberry. A guided walk through the park led by Jason VanLiew offered a closer look at the accessibility, beauty, and health benefits of the urban tree canopy.

Because healthy communities and a healthy climate grow the same way. One root at a time.
